Well, here’s something you don’t see very often in winter weather. While walking past a window earlier today, I was surprised to find this baby garter snake making its way over the frozen snow. There wasn’t anything I could photograph with it to give a sense of scale, but this small guy was basically the size of a really long earth worm; still a new baby. We have no idea where he slithered from, but he took shelter under our deck. It’s a good snake to have around so I hope it makes it and finds a good place to take shelter in.
